Night Meeting Minutes April 15, 2026
 
First, an update on the Roadside Cleanup.  The weather was not out friend leading up to the cleanup-and the thought was that we would start cleaning up and probably have to finish on another day.  However, the rain held off )for the most part!) and we had a great group of volunteers who came out.   Betsy Hirschfeld, Katelyn Zimmerman, Max Springer, and Jack Halbleib joined from the high school.  Brian Benisch, Beth Naughton, Will Gruber, Zach Wedel and Sandee Macht also volunteered.  
 
The 9 volunteers spent a grand total of 13 hours picking up 13 bags worth of garbage: our largest haul yet!  The rain held off JUST long enough for us to finish.
 
THANK YOU to those who volunteered!  Since it was expected that we would need to pick up later this month, some folks opted to come the "second time" we came out to pick up.  They obviously weren't there in person but they were in spirit-and they are much appreciated as well!  There will be another garbage pickup!!!
 
 
The crew called it a success at 6:18PM and headed to Tyranena.
 
Those in attendance for the meeting were: Ken Hein, John Holevoet, Will Gruber, Zach Wedel, Sandee Macht, and Josh Macht
 
Zach brought 3 versions of bookmark designs as well as some copies of the final version of the sponsorship brochure.   These were reviewed and voted on.  Zach is now going to run the finalist past Gerard for his take and then we will go forward with production.  These will be handed out at the library, parade, and to the sponsors.  We also want to use these for the farmers market rather than the brochure: they will be more useful and also more cost effective.
 
Sponsorships were reviewed.  Additional contacts were meted out.
 
Publicity locations were discussed.  Zach will write an article for the District 6250 newsletter.  Ken is going to reach out to Meet.  Sandee will reach out to Ann Lee.
 
Ken, as the diamond sponsor, is considering creating special water bottles for the first 100 people who sign up for the run.  
 
May goals: 
  • Get the permit for the event
  • Have all sponsorships paid for by the end of May
  • Have poster and Tshirt design finalized by the end of May
Note that the run registration is LIVE!
